Using Your AMPP Chapter Logo the Right Way

Using Your AMPP Chapter Logo the Right Way

Lead & Succeed | Chapter Leader Toolkit

Your chapter logo is more than a graphic. It helps members, sponsors, vendors, and attendees recognize that your communication is official, credible, and connected to AMPP.

The Key Idea

Use your official chapter logo exactly as provided. Consistent branding helps people immediately understand who is communicating and protects the credibility of both your chapter and AMPP.

What You’ll Get From This Guide

  • When to use your chapter logo
  • The difference between chapter and corporate logos
  • A quick list of what you can and cannot do
  • Guidance for working with sponsors
  • A simple pre-publish brand checklist
  • Links and contacts for official logo files and guidance

Why Logo Consistency Matters

Every chapter communication contributes to how members, sponsors, partners, and the public experience the AMPP brand.

When logos are stretched, recolored, copied from a website, or replaced with the corporate logo, people may be left wondering:

  • Is this an official AMPP chapter event?
  • Is AMPP headquarters hosting this?
  • Is this a third-party activity using the logo?
  • Which organization or chapter is responsible?

Consistent branding removes that ambiguity. It makes communications easier to recognize and helps chapters present themselves professionally.

Chapter Logo vs. AMPP Corporate Logo

Each chapter has its own official AMPP Chapter logo that includes the chapter name. That is the logo intended for local chapter business.

Example AMPP Rocky Mountain Chapter horizontal logo

Use Your Chapter Logo For

  • Chapter websites
  • Event flyers
  • Email promotions
  • Social media graphics
  • Signage
  • Sponsorship materials
  • Course announcements
  • Other official chapter business

The Corporate Logo

The AMPP corporate logo represents the organization as a whole. It should not be substituted for your chapter logo on chapter communications because doing so may imply that AMPP headquarters is directly hosting, managing, or endorsing the activity.

Quick Rule:
If the communication is coming from your chapter, use your official chapter logo.

What You Can Do With Your Chapter Logo

APPROVED USES

  • Use it for official chapter meetings, events, courses, sponsorship promotions, and member communications
  • Use the official horizontal version when appropriate
  • Use the stacked or vertical version when space requires it
  • Use approved RGB files for digital applications
  • Use approved CMYK files for print
  • Use approved black or white versions where appropriate
  • Maintain appropriate clear space around the logo
  • Place the logo on backgrounds with sufficient contrast
  • Pair it with sponsor logos when the approved placement rules are followed

QUICK FILE GUIDE

Which Logo File Should You Use?

Digital / Web: Use the approved RGB version.

Professional Print: Use the approved CMYK or other supplied high-resolution print file.

Dark Background: Use an approved version designed to maintain clear contrast.

What Not to Do With the Logo

Most logo issues are accidental. Keeping a short “do not” list nearby can prevent unnecessary corrections later.

PLEASE DON’T

  • Change the logo colors
  • Stretch, skew, compress, or distort it
  • Crop any part of the logo
  • Add shadows, gradients, glows, outlines, or effects
  • Recreate the logo in Canva, PowerPoint, or another design program
  • Use a low-resolution logo copied from the web for professional printing
  • Use the AMPP corporate logo instead of your chapter logo
  • Use the logo in a way that implies AMPP endorsement of an outside organization

Working With Sponsors and Outside Organizations

Sponsor recognition is an important part of chapter communications, but logo placement should clearly distinguish the chapter from the sponsor or outside organization.

Avoid situations such as:

  • Placing the chapter logo on outside marketing materials without clear context
  • Allowing a sponsor or vendor to recolor or alter the chapter logo
  • Using the chapter logo on materials unrelated to official chapter business
  • Designing a layout that could make a third-party product or service appear endorsed by AMPP
When in Doubt:
Ask before publishing. It is much easier to confirm logo use ahead of time than to correct materials after they have been distributed.

Good Branding Makes Chapter Leadership Easier

Brand standards are not only about compliance. Using approved assets consistently can actually save chapter volunteers time.

You don’t have to design a logo. The approved asset already exists.

You don’t have to guess what looks right. The logo system provides the structure.

You reduce rework. Correct files are less likely to need corrections later.

Your materials look more consistent. That helps the chapter present itself professionally across every channel.

BEFORE YOU PUBLISH

Your 30-Second Logo Check

  • Am I using my chapter’s official logo?
  • Is this the correct file for print or digital use?
  • Have I preserved the logo’s original proportions?
  • Are the colors unchanged?
  • Is there enough space around the logo?
  • Is it readable against the background?
  • Could the layout imply AMPP endorses another organization?
  • If I’m unsure, have I asked for guidance?

What to Take Away From This

Your chapter logo represents your local leadership, your members, your region, and your connection to the broader AMPP community.

Using the approved logo consistently helps your communications look credible and professional while making it clear who is behind the message. And when the correct files and guidance already exist, following the brand standards can actually make chapter communications easier—not harder.
